Icewind Dale

Post by Silent Flamer »

Did anybody manage to get Icewind Dale working in SheepShaver or a physical PPC Macintosh? I tried on my iBook G3, it didn't work. I was thinking perhaps the disk images would fare better in SheepShaver as they wouldn't be mounted disk images in-OS but would act like real CDs in real drives.

This is the sort of game that you might be better off just buying retail (via Good Old Games) for Windows. Just a thought.

From the comments on Macintosh Garden, it doesn't look like those disk images will work.

Yeah, but I'm mainly getting this game for my Mac just so there would be at least one biggie game in the library. It's kind of empty, or rather the programs it has aren't really programs that I use (half are Productivity programs which I don't use anymore, and the other half are a collection of small games, the only ones that are big are Civilization II and Trophy Bass), so I wanted some sort of RPG. Icewind Dale seemed perfect until my tests.

My Windows PC is a bit overkill too, so if I were to buy Icewind Dale I might as well spend the money on something newer.
