How does one usually get stacks into a Macbook Air running Sheepshaver
in iMac
when running sheepshaver, CDs mount in OS9
drag stacks from a CD to ClassicHD works OK
drag stacks from a CD to Unix folder works OK
in Macbook Air
when running sheepshaver, CDs mount in OSX via DVD or CD sharing strategy
so far I can't get stacks to copy into my Macbook Air properly
These stacks were created in an old PowerPC laptop in OS9 and saved onto a CD

Re: Get stacks into a Macbook Air running Sheepshaver
You do not mention which OSX versions run on the iMac and the MacBook Air. On the iMac you can apparently mount the CD in SheepShaver, so the iMac runs Lion (10.7) or earlier.
You can mount the CD on your MacBook Air through CD sharing, I suppose shared from the iMac. If the OSX version on the MacBook Air is Mountain Lion (10.8) or later, the CD will not be accessible from within SheepShaver (see our setup manual).
You should be able to copy files (including stacks) from the mounted CD to anywhere on the MacBook Air and from there move or copy them into the folder that you assigned as shared folder for SheepShaver (which shows up as the Unix volume on the emulated machine).
Exactly what does not work properly when you try to copy the stacks?

Hi Oh helpful one … those comments were all I needed to re-examine my process .. thanks . all sorted .. John
I have been running my medical business using Hypercard since 1998
I have been using old Macs for the purpose (bought up a pile of them second hand)
Sheepshaver etc always looked too difficut for a non-IT trained end user like me
Only just discovered Classic-On-Intel v 4.0.1: “chubby-bunny”
So I've loaded it on my home iMa and a work Macbook Air. Looks like the solution for me .. thrilled.
