CD image mounted, but not recognized?

I'm running Sheepshaver on a Mac running OSX 10.8, and I'm trying to get Might & Magic: World of Xeen to run. When I start up the program, I get a dialog box asking to insert the install CD. Sheepshaver won't recognize the actual CD, so I made a .cdr image of it and mounted it as a volume. The CD image shows as mounted on Sheepshaver's desktop, but the program apparently doesn't recognize it, as I still get the dialog box. Does anyone know how to get around this?

You will also need the Virtual DVD-ROM/CD Utility. See description of the workaround in the setup guide:
