Looks like this error has been around for a while. I'm using SheepShaver Jan 2015 build, on 64 bit Win 8.1 with 16GB physical ram. When I launch SheepShaver, Resource Monitor shows over 10GB free ram. Cannot allocate 1024MB to SheepShaver in the gui without the "cannot map ram:no error" message. 512,768, and 896 MB work fine.
Tried to start SheepShaver with no other programs running, after fresh reboot, no luck.
Any ideas?

Re: Cannot map ram:no error
Hmm... maybe anything higher than 512MB overlaps the ASLR boundary, and so due to the way SheepShaver addresses its memory, mapping fails? Just a guess; might be related to the "mapping from 0" discussion we've been having (which means if someone fixes that code, this might get fixed too).

Also tried turning DEP off in Win 8.1, no luck.
