Did anybody try this version recently?
I wanted to compare Fusion 1.3 to Fusion 3.0 just out of curiosity. Clockwise kindly pointed me to the download.

My testing ground is FreeDOS on a Dell Optiplex 745. Fusion 3.0 is working so far, except some missing drivers for CD-ROM and SCSI - and a jumpy USB mouse of course.
Fusion 1.2 demo quits with this after the setup screen: Error loading 32bit overlay.
I´m aware of some demo limitations, my boot drive is only 40MB to match the 100MB limit.
I think I did setup correctly, so I´m clueless with this error.

Re: Fusion 1.2 Demo
Could it have to do with your graphics card? I used to get that error when bit depth/screen resolution couldn't be matched appropriately.
Re: Fusion 1.2 Demo
Probably, yes.
I already tried the graphics driver from Fusion 3 with the demo, but no dice.
I´ll try with the GMA3000 tomorrow.
Maybe the Dell is too "new" and a AGP rig would do better.
Do you think FreeDOS is a good choice or should try DR-DOS too?

Re: Fusion 1.2 Demo
You may actually have better luck with DOSBox, where the hardware is all safely emulated. But Dr-DOS will definitely be more reliable, as it's the original DOS that all others copy from.
Re: Fusion 1.2 Demo
You where quite right again, thanks!
I tried with my Pentium 4 box and a smaller 4:3 monitor and got it rolling.
DOS 7.1 (W98) and CuteMouse did the trick. The Fusion monitor is limited to 640x480 in the demo,
thats the most likely no-go for my Dell setup.
I would have to confirm whether the Dells monitor can do 640x480, but I doubt it.
On the same hardware and disk image, FusionPC 3.0 gets a score of ca. 186, BII Build 142 about 107.
Not that such scores would matter much with recent hardware.
