Q: Help! I'm at this page and I have no idea what it is about!?
A: If you don't know what it's about, you shouldn't be here. No... no... that's not a good attitude to have.
This site is devoted to the emulation of Apple Macintosh computers on the (mainly) Intel (x86) platform,
including Windows, Linux, BeOS and OS/2.
Q: Well, that's cool. What can I run?
A: Currently (but hopefully not for long) you can only run
programs that were written for the 68K series
of Macintosh computers. That means that all of those PPC applications I see you starting to unwrap will not run. We have
hope of seeing a PPC emulator soon but there is not one at this time.
Q: Hey, it says I need something called a ROM and I can't find one on your page. Where do I get one?
A: The distribution of ROM images (and maybe even using them outside of Mac computers) is illegal. This means that we cannot
distribute them. However, there is a good guide on how to extract the ROM image from your old Mac,
here. We also have a good links page you can look at. ;)
Q: I can't get [insert emulator here] to work. What am I doing wrong?
A: You could e-mail us and we may have the answer, but your best bet would be to visit
The Macintosh Emulation Forum and ask your question there. You will get the quickest response time and get knowledge pooled from MANY Mac emulation
experts.
Q: I need more help! Where else can I go?
A: We have put together a guide to the many online resources that can help you with your
emulator. See it here.
