Arduino Macintosh clone
Hello guys,
do you know if someone attempted to make a little clone of the Macintosh 68k? Not emulating it though (I mean, e.g. no Raspberry Pi with emulator inside)

Re: How does the Classic environment works in OS X Tiger?
Hi, Thank you adespoton. Again, I know it requires effort and time. But if it is really feasible, and it is just a matter of time – of course not only time itself :( –, I think slowly, without stopping, we could achieve this – as any other thing, I think, in life. Anyway... why Apple always has to c...

Re: How does the Classic environment works in OS X Tiger?
Hi, Thank you guys. Yes, we talked a bit about Rosetta. And I would ask you what do you think about working on its port to newer macOS. I think we could continue the work done by _smartie77_ here: https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/262890-installing-rosetta-on-lion/ They tested with SnowLeopard...

How does the Classic environment works in OS X Tiger?
Hi, I would like to know how Classic works on Tiger. Mac OS 9 is cool since it is basically only a folder – understand what I mean xD.
Also, which is the difference between Classic and Rosetta?

Re: [macOS] QEMU build using Hypervisor framework
Hi,
I tried this: http://breakintheweb.com/2017/10/14/Qem ... Framework/ I do not know how good is doing, even if it actually utilize that framework. I’m on Debian and everything is just normal. As glitchy as on VirtualBox.

Re: My Quick and Dirty AppleScript Image Creator
Hi ifrit05,
Thank you for your work!
Anyway I think in these cases a code block with the AppleScript code inside could be a better way of presenting it.
(I know you wanted to make the process as simple as possible :) )
Best,

[macOS] QEMU build using Hypervisor framework
Hello everyone. It’s been a while since I last write here... (I received no email, I suppose no one posted a reply in any old threads I participated to) As you know I’m not a macOS programmer but I found this – did no research at all – : https://developer.apple.com/documentation/hypervisor What are ...

Re: Qemu package and guide for OSX available
Hi guys I made a guide for emulating Mac OS X Tiger on QEMU 3.0.0 working on macOS 10.14 Mojave. It is in Italian though. If you think it could help, I will happily translate it into English. https://2bluebuffalo.blogspot.com/2018/12/installare-mac-os-x-tiger-su-mojave.html Have a nice day and Merr...

Re: How fast is QEMU compared to a “Quad” Power Macintosh G5
Thank you cat.
If I have a G5 I would make a disk partition with Linux on it.
The problem with QEMU is only if it can be compared in performance to a G5 emulating a ppc machine on an Intel host. And at the moment the answer seems to be no.

Re: How fast is QEMU compared to a “Quad” Power Macintosh G5
Thank you On my macbook pro 13” mid-2012 2.5GHz i5 (base model, upgraded RAM and SSD, macOS Mojave 10.14) the emulation is fine. Tiger is ok (although slow, naturally). But as I said, since my mac is running macOS and it’s a 2012 macbook, I though on Linux with recent hardware the situation was much...

Re: How fast is QEMU compared to a “Quad” Power Macintosh G5
Thank you Cat_7 Are you on Linux? Don’t know precisely the model of your processor but 3.5GHz i7 should be really performant. I assume you are using the last QEMU version too. I expected much more performance to be honest. And your data is compared with a 1.0GHz G4 processor. So I assume the situati...

Re: How fast is QEMU compared to a “Quad” Power Macintosh G5
Yes, exactly. The data I would like to receive are the one from the computer you are using for virtualizing Mac OS X. I mean, if QEMU performs better than original G5, which is your configuration? Which processor are you using, RAM, HDD/SSD, (QEMU conf) etc. Thanks My problem is, I’m currently runni...

How fast is QEMU compared to a “Quad” Power Macintosh G5?
If it is duplicated tell me. I tried searching “powerpc” and “mac g5” but their are too common words . So... Please, if you have any test made (benchmark), upload it here, let me know. For “QEMU” I’m referring to a QEMU version for Intel architecture, on linux OS. Edit: If you have tests made on oth...

Re: Custom icon for sheepvm?
Considering the icons we have at the moment I would choose the proposed one (I voted only now). I think it’s good and we could just set it up for the moment. Since as I said the two icons form a great bundle together.
Then, when and if, we will have a better icon, we will figure out what to do.

Re: Custom icon for sheepvm?
The thing I like of the Macintosh + SheepShaver icon is that it preserve the same style of the normal icon. (Both are pixeled with the same pixel dimension). And this is good. Mine instead, like it is now, is good as stand-alone. But it doesn’t make all-one-thing with the default icon. What I can sa...

It stands for a “play” button. “Run”. When you double-click it, you are running it, not opening it.
