Re: Interest in an iOS build?
Thanks for this! I was able to get this up and running on my iPad without much hassle. I was hopeful that Sheepshaver would not have the same "crash on command+w" behavior as Basilisk II, but sadly I see the same issue. https://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=75181#p75181 I'm cur...

Re: BasiliskII for iOS
I compared the behavior of the latest Basilisk II iOS branch running in the Xcode 14.1 simulator in iPad OS 16.1 vs 15.5 and I can confirm that the "crash on command+w" problem began in iPad OS 16+. It seems like in iPad OS 16.1 command+w generally closes (or suspends?) whatever full scree...

Re: BasiliskII for iOS
I'm not certain when this started happening, but after ~1.5 years of happily running Basilisk II on my iPad it is now crashing if I use the command+w keyboard shortcut. I think it may align with when I upgraded to iOS 16.

Re: Caps Lock key not passed though?
Thank you! The new build works as expected and I can happily play Lunatic Fringe again. It runs perfectly!

Re: Caps Lock key not passed though?
On the off chance that someone knows a workaround, I should mention that my interest in caps lock is purely to active the interactive mode of some After Dark screensavers like Lunatic Fringe. I've explored the After Dark control panel and module settings but I don't see any way to re-bind the caps l...

Thanks for the reply! This saves me from wasting time on additional troubleshooting.

Caps Lock key not passed though?
Hi, I'm running the latest Basilisk II build for MacOS (SDL2 port, 14 June 2021, universal) on Mac OS Big Sur with a USA/English keyboard, but I can't figure out how to get Caps Lock to pass through into Mac OS 7.6. I searched through the forums and couldn't find any current known issues related to ...

Re: BasiliskII for iOS
I just hit the 7 day signing profile expiration too. Oops! I didn't understand this aspect of using a free developer account. I understand it the options for using BasiliskII on iOS for > 7 days are: 1. use a sketchy looking AltStore to manage app re-signing 2. plunk down $100 a year for a full regi...

Re: BasiliskII for iOS
One other thing to note is that in a lot of emulators, the ringer switch toggles audio -- so if your device is in vibrate only mode, you won't have sound. Turning it to ring mode will enable sound. I haven't checked if that's the case with BII, but I suspect it is. In the case of the iPad there's n...

Re: BasiliskII for iOS
I finally got sound working, but the solution was unexpected. While troubleshooting I noticed that something was wrong with sound in iPadOS overall: while I could play music from the Music app and test the ringer sounds in Settings, the keyboard click and Lock Screen sound effects would not play eve...

I ran into the exact same problem and resolved it with @ussohio 's fix. Thanks!

Re: BasiliskII for iOS
I'm interested to know the steps that may be missing! Hi! My setup is Xcode 12.5 on Big Sur 11.4 and I ran into build failures that required two changes: 1. In Xcode preferences, I had to add my Apple ID under Accounts. I've previously played around with Xcode enough that my Apple ID is associated ...

Re: BasiliskII for iOS
Whoa, this is awesome. I had no idea it was possible to run BasiliskII on iOS. I'm not an Xcode user so I had to fumble my way through some of the setup steps that aren't mentioned in @gingerbeardman 's excellent blog post, but I was able to get Mac OS 7.6 running on my 11" iPad Pro without too...

Re: Port forwarding in slirp
Wow, the port forwarding feature is great! I can finally run a Hotline Server in Sheepshaver and expose the ports.
In case it helps anyone else, you can forward multiple ports (as need by Hotline) by adding additional redir lines:
redir tcp:5500:10.0.2.15:5500
redir tcp:5501:10.0.2.15:5501

Re: Anyone running Mklinux in Sheepshaver (or otherwise)?
Alas, QEMU got got further into the boot process of Mklinux before hanging without any indiction of why.
I suspect this is a fruitless effort, so I'm giving up for now. I'll revisit the state of PPC emulation in a couple decades.

Anyone running Mklinux in Sheepshaver (or otherwise)?
Over the past few days I've tumbled down the rabbit hole of acquiring software to recreate my computing environment of the late 90s, which included running Mklinux alongside OS 9. Unfortunately attempts to boot Mklinux in Sheepshaver result in an error message "Could not locate a good contagiou...
