Re: Struggling to install a SDL file on Sheepshaver
Ok, so I was trying to get this to run on sheepshaver: http://macintoshgarden.org/games/dominions-priests-prophets-and-pretenders Now if I have understood you correctly the SDL file is ment to allow the game to run on OS X without an emulator and now that I look back it even says as much. So this wa...

Struggling to install a SDL file on Sheepshaver
Hey again, I'm trying to install a sdl file on sheepshaver called "SDL-1.2.4a.pkg.tar.gz" (related to another game) but every time I try I just get a message: "Could not find the application program that created the document named "SDL-1.2.4a.pkg.tar.gz". To open the documen...

Re: Struggling to install AOE2 on OS9
Is the disk with the systems folder the one called "Mac OS ROM" or is it "Mac OS9.dsk"? Or is it something/somewhere else.

Re: Struggling to install AOE2 on OS9
Wonderful! I have now successfully switched to sheepshaver and have been able to download the game  I have run into one last snag though. The game says it requires quicktime player v.5 to run properly and needs to install it. It says that I need to instal it on a disk with a systems folder. but...

Re: Switching from COI 4.0.1 to SheepShaver
Ok, I downloaded the official SheepShaver folder. Then transferred the SheepShaver.app, Mac OS ROM and MacOS9.dsk into it. But when i try to run the scripts i get this error message: "“Delete Prefs File.app” (or "Zap PRAM.app") is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the...

Re: Switching from COI 4.0.1 to SheepShaver
I'm a little confused about step 4. Use the scripts in that folder to delete both the prefs file and the nvram file. (After this you should not launch COI anymore, because that will again create those files with content that is specific to COI.) I don't know where to find the scripts or the prefs/ n...

Re: Struggling to install AOE2 on OS9
Hey, I took the "AOEII_Gold.toast" file which wasn't mounted on the host OS renamed it to "1200Meg.dmg" through the finder Get Info panel. Moved the renamed file into the /Users/Shared/ folder. locked the file. Started COI clicked on the file on the desktop an i got the same erro...

Re: Struggling to install AOE2 on OS9
Ok, I think I have realized the problem (It was me all along). When I expanded the .sit file i did it outside of COI which mounted the Disk image to the host OS. So when I copied it into the COI the emulator just saw it as a regular file folder. When I was trying to install I was just clicking on th...

Re: Struggling to install AOE2 on OS9
Hey, Thanks so much for answering so fast. If I left click on the file in question I don't get the option to "show original" so i'm fairly confident that it isn't an alias. But I'm not at all an expert so I wouldn't be surprised if i was wrong. Either way here's a rundown of what i did: - ...
