Re: Midi for Mini vMac
One question: which clock are you using for timing? The Roland clock? Sending clock data might affect things even though we're talking sysex here, which shouldn't have anything to do with clock values. I seem to vaguely remember playing with hardware clock vs line clock to get things working better...

Re: Midi for Mini vMac
Are the earlier posts with patch file and build instructions up to date? I could use a version set to 4 color mode; I am testing older games which used MT32 with both a real module and MUNT. This build of midivmac works with MUNT but games like Thexder need 4 color mode. The VOGONS crew might find t...

Re: Midi for Mini vMac
Aha, nice. Thanks! I find that consistency interesting, I wish I had another modern USB to MIDI on hand. This Hosa cable carrying the dump/midi cable from the korg is not exactly professional quality. I'm still baffled as to why the Roland UM-ONE MK2 is blocking inbound sysex, when it sends outbound...

Re: Midi for Mini vMac
happy to hear you got it working. midivmac indeed exposes two hardcoded virtual midi ports, named Mini vMac Modem and Printer. Routing them <-> physical midi interfaces requires a separate external app, such as osx Midi PatchBay app or SubtleSoft's MidiPipe [1]. that is a bit cumbersome, so i've be...

Re: Midi for Mini vMac
VICTORY, for the most part. I can use the patch editor without constant communication errors. Trying to throw a whole set of patches on there at once will error out, but, you can load several banks and transmit patches one at a time, and edit them in real time  The Roland UM-One, which is norma...

Re: Midi for Mini vMac
After some more work and searching I found a couple nice tools, namely MIDI monitor, and MIDI patchbay (not to be confused with patchbay in classic MacOS). It would appear that MIDI patchbay is actually passing everything right. I have the korg editor in vmac sending sysex and it configures paramete...

Re: Midi for Mini vMac
Update, I looked through the source of the patch (thanks for posting) and realized this is creating a virtual MIDI interface on MacOS. My main mac unfortunately for this situation is on Catalina, and won't run the good old Midi Patchbay app. But, I am able to see the midi comms now in renoise, so I ...

Re: Midi for Mini vMac
uploaded a zipped osx build v01 to https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OJ2GE87GE5VPFr8nKZcFwSwJXZDvykxM any feedback/issues most welcome. would really like to turn it into a usable midi resource, thanks for trying it out! explored most compilation options and ended up with the flags below: MacII targ...
