Re: OSX 10.5 Filesharing on Intel Mac running Sonoma

Hi,

Can you tell us how you attempt to get access to the files on the host?
With which macOS did you have success earlier? Has that changed since Sonoma?

Does your internet connection in Leopard work?

Re: Shoebill - a Macintosh II + A/UX emulator for OS X

Better late then never, but I started writing a guide on running Shoebill: https://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/shoebill
It has the 0.0.5 Windows build as a download (including the source code).

Re: Mouse Not Scrolling in Mac OS 9.2.2

Does it not work like this: -The column name only selects which column is subsequently ordered. -Ordering happens by clicking on the up/down triangle on top of the scrollbar on the right of the window. Are you talking about any folder or the folder that represents the shared folder on your host hard...

Re: Qemu Pegasos2/AmigaOneXe AmigaOs4.1

Hi, I pointed the main developer of the Pegasos/Amiga code to your question. This is what he had to say: As for gfx tearing I don't expect that to work now but it probably does not have anything to do with OpenGL but more with QEMU display backends. I'm not sure but I think what may be needed is to ...

Re: A/UX AppleTalk information

A/UX will not mount these drives automagically. You nee to mount them manually or edit the fstab file to have them mount at boot. mount -o rw /dev/dsk/c1d0s0 /mnt will mount a drive with scsi id 1 in read/write mode to the /mnt directory. The network has to be configured the unix way, so messing wit...

I ran the "installations" (copy of cd content to disk) for 1.1.1 and 2.1 with Qemu running A/UX 3.11. I then booted the resulting disks in shoebill. I also changed the initlevel by editing the appropriate file from inside Qemu A/UX 3.11 btw: the aux 2.0 image available on winworldpc boots...

Re: A/UX AppleTalk information

In my tests with Shoebill, I created the images for 1.1.1 and 2.1 with qemu running a/ux, so yes they can be partitioned (in qemu), and written and read in both.

Re: A/UX AppleTalk information

What is interesting regarding A/UX 111 is this post: https://www.emaculation.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=47741#p47741 You need to login as root, change to e.g. init 5, and then run the toolbox daemon in the background to start GUI apps. Alas the only example given is how to run a terminal. However, th...

Well, you certainly are adventurous, I could have told you not to use the virtio-vga device.....There was a reason I didn't mention it.
But OK, you learned from your own experience, so that is good ;-)

Re: Qemu virtio drivers for Mac OS 9.x

Yes, it aims to provide access to a folder on the host, much like the unix drive in SheepShaver. But at the same time the tech is different. You need pairs of lines (and make sure the lines end correctly regarding \ or not) -device virtio-9p-pci,fsdev=UNIQUENAME,mount_tag="Macintosh HD" \ ...

Can you show the command line with the redirects? In my last post I showed you how to add multiple redirects: -netdev user,id=network01,hostfwd=tcp::7777-:23,hostfwd=udp::5499-:5499,hostfwd=tcp::5500-:5500,hostfwd=tcp::5501-:5501,hostfwd=tcp::5502-:5502,hostfwd=tcp::5503-:5503 If this still applies,...

-device sungem,netdev=network01 -netdev user,id=network01,hostfwd=tcp::7777-:23 Should indeed be correct. Note you cannot run SheepShaver with the redirect line and qemu with the hostfwd at the same time. Qemu is not a polished as SheepShaver, you can always revert to SheepShaver ;-) It is all toget...

Re: I'm Back .... After Nine Years .... and with Networking Problems!

We really need to focus on one solution. Throw away all stuff you created yourself, except for the disk image you created with qemu-img. Then download only the first download in the first post into a clean folder. (Dealing with experimental builds is not wise, they change rapidly and are instable. I...

Re: I'm Back .... After Nine Years .... and with Networking Problems!

It is not really a VM when running powerpc applications on intel or "apple silicon" (what an appropriation that is ;-) ) It just provides a graphical way to construct the qemu command line. Nothing wrong. If you download and run our build (see guide), you have qemu-img. If you build your o...

I've now got images of A/UX 1.1.1 and 2.1 that boot with Shoebill. I encounter several issues: -with 2.1 I get an error saying login respawns too quickly. Re: I'm Back .... After Nine Years .... and with Networking Problems!

Do you feel that Qemu is better than SheepShaver? Is it newer? Would I be able to easily transfer my BBS and Hotline server to it? Or would I have to start over from scratch? Re: Help! Copying games from HFS volume to HFS volume on GNU/Linux

No, I don't know. It seems the manual doesn't mention copying whole folders.

You can run SheepShaver. It reads the floppy when it's added to the volumes list.
If you then also attach the qemu drive you can copy from the floppy to the qemu drive.
