I believe this was a bug on real hardware as well, but others have to confirm that
If you remove the control strip prefs, it should position itself on the bottom of the screen.

Re: Basilisk II, AppleTalk, and Windows 7
Surely you are selecting the name of your tap device in the network settings tab in the Basilisk GUI? (At Ethernet Interface) Did you name it Network Bridge? Basilisk is quite finicky regarding network support. Are you following any guide about how to set up the network? Are there any examples of pe...

Re: Basilisk II, AppleTalk, and Windows 7
You'd first have to bridge your default ethernet connection with the tap device to get appletalk running.

Re: Qemu screamer not starting (windows)
The way you run Qemu now (with mac99) makes OS X use an adb mouse and keyboard. Under load (e.g. with sound playing) the mouse can jump and clicks can indeed be random. Generally this can be solved by using the usb mouse and keyboard (with mac99,via=pmu). However, when you run OSX 10.0 and 10.1 with...

Re: Qemu screamer not starting (windows)
Yes, true. I assume the OP has read the guide
My response was to adespoton explaining why for Mac OS 9.x guests the screamer does not work with 1Gb or more memory.
This does not affect OS X guests.

Re: Qemu screamer not starting (windows)
For Mac OS 9.x setting memory to 1024m turns off virtual memory, after which the screamer starts faltering.

Re: Qemu screamer not starting (windows)
Ah, you have -boot d, which boots from media=cdrom. You need -boot c to boot from media=disk. The screamer doesn't work with -m 1024 or more, so set the amount of memory to something less. The command line could be: qemu-system-ppc-screamer.exe ^ -L pc-bios ^ -M mac99 ^ -m 512 ^ -cpu G4 ^ -display s...

Re: A/UX AppleTalk information
I was joking as I fixed that a few days ago after the initial report
"A/UX version 1.x is based on System 6.0.4. Version 2.0 is based on System 6.0.5, while version 3 is based on System 7.0.1"
(It might also be I 'm missing some of the intricacies of the English language here)

Re: Error message when trying to boot up an old game
The system requirements here: https://macintoshgarden.org/games/harry-potter-and-the-chamber-of-secrets suggest you need at least Mac OS 9.1 to run the game. SheepShaver does not support that version. They also say you need accelerated graphics to run. Neither SheepShaver nor Qemu will provide that....

Re: Shoebill - a Macintosh II + A/UX emulator for OS X
Yes, you need to start the daemon. Then there is also a graphical tool (hfx) to copy files from the mac to the A/UX side.I'll have to check out if this is indeed all that's needed here
See the A/UX Appletalk networking thread.

Re: SheepShaver constantly freezes running 'Ares'
At least Ares 1.2 seems to run fine with Qemu-screamer and MacOS92 in 800x600 and 256 colours.
The belt also runs. Sound seems OK but gameplay is very slow.

Maybe something in your build environment is causing the problem? I didn't change any of the SheepShaverGUI code for my build. I use just a plain, up to date, msys2 32 bit environment to build. Indeed, some positives when analysing the GUIs. I submitted them to: https://virusscan.jotti.org/

Hi,
Yes, that is too old. The SDL and GTK display options were added later. So you can either compile a new version yourself, or use one of our builds.

Hi,
Can you tell us how you attempt to get access to the files on the host?
With which macOS did you have success earlier? Has that changed since Sonoma?
Does your internet connection in Leopard work?
