Re: Sheepshaver/BasiliskII development and supported platforms

On Intel I guess you first need to install brew for arm? One other build environment to keep track of. arch -arm64 /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homeb ... install.sh)" Find the actual url to use here: https://brew.sh/ and then install mpfr: arch -arm64 brew i...

Re: QEMU and Firewire devices - help!

Well, who knows. Perhaps the firewire drivers also play a role? Or some sleep setting? It seems that inside the FW enclosure is a Western Digital WD2500JB disk with an IDE interface. If you have one, you might put it in a SATA enclosure. As last option, you might take the disk out and connect it to ...

Re: QEMU and Firewire devices - help!

You might also try the graphical tool from https://hddguru.com/software/HDD-Raw-Copy-Tool/ which seems to use dd to copy disks. If you download the portable version, no installation is needed. After startup it should show your disk. Select it as source disk, click Continue. At Target, double-click f...

Hi, Hi, Both HFS explorer and HFV explorer only read HFS disks, not HFS+ disks Is that power failure happing with your G4 or the firewire disk? I assume you have a firewire connection on your Windows machine? If so, you might be able to find some disk imaging tool to create an image of the disk cont...

Re: Mac OS 9.2 Virtual Machine manager not booting in to cdrom

Hi, We would need some additional info to understand your issue. What are you trying to boot with which virtual machine manager? How come you think you need something set to use a scsi interface? Qemu-system-ppc runs Mac OS using ide interfaces. Have you tried using our guide? It is mostly applicabl...

Re: Qemu package and guide for Windows available

Hi, The flash indicates one or more errors on your command line. I think you're almost there, just some minor issues. Next time you might want to start the bat file from a command window. That way Qemu will at least give you some info on what is going wrong. If issues remain you might want to first ...

Hi, We have several guides about how to set up these emulators. Questions like what the maximum size of a drive should be, how to get files in an out of the emulator are answered there. The guide linked to below does not directly aim a running in Linux, but the installation process is very comparabl...

Re: Vasi SheepShaver for Linux (2019-07-13) fails to display menus and settings

Hi, The GUI for Linux builds does not work in the way you describe. If the executable is built with the GUI enabled, it will appear when you start SheepShaver. MacOS builds have the settings option included in the menus, the Windows builds include a separate GUI. A .sheepshaver_prefs file should hav...

Re: sheep_net connection dies

Hi, If slirp is not available in the drop down, and you cannot set "--ether slirp" on the command line or "ether slirp" in the prefs, then perhaps something goes wrong while compiling. Perhaps you are missing some dependency, but I would not be able to tell you how to check that....

Re: QEMU not running - no valid state has been set

Hi,

Qemu can run Mac OS 9.2: https://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/pp ... mu-for-osx
The problem seems to be with the umt app? Perhaps asking on its discord channel can help you.

Re: sheep_net connection dies

Hi,

On the command line that is --ether slirp
Then set Mac OS tcp/ip settings to dhcp and you should get 10.0.2.15 as ip address.

Re: sheep_net connection dies

Hi,

You say:
I need the sheep_net connection to the internet
If access to the internet is the only reason to try the sheep_net driver then you can also use the default slirp connection.

Please consider switching to QEMU to emulate OSX

To anyone who considers trying to run OSX with PearPC, we advise to try QEMU instead . QEMU is by now way ahead of PearPC, both technically and functionally. And it is stable. Our guide to run Qemu for Windows is here: http://www.emaculation.com/doku.php/ppc-osx-on-qemu-for-windows Our guide to run ...

Re: Mouse and keyboard not working in mac os x 10.0 :/

As I wrote earlier, add -device usb-mouse to the command line.
You never said what happened exactly when you did.

If you are back to the earlier command line, add that part in between the other commands so the command line stays correct.
