A full copy of version 8.0 can be legally acquired by dint of bidding for same on Ebay. I usually email to ask if the disk is genuine as I have no interest in CDR copies of licensed products. I paid under 10 bucks for my legit disk of Version 8.0 Unfortunately it is for a powerbook so it will not wo...

I am running the North American English version of Jaguar, without the bsd sub system. The build of PPC I have is the one from the nightly builds referenced on the front page as John K's, I think it's version 0.1.2 although my PPC folder is now overrun with different versions. The byte size is 74574...

a) if you managed to get networking sorted, you could download the file from apple directly to the emulator b) alternatively, burn it to cd, then create an image of the cd in iso format (nb, my emulator cant read iso images unless they are in apple format then it just hangs on boot up, which is a bi...

MacOSX Redux

I have given this some thought, it isnt a wild statement made at some absurd hour of the morning. I love the idea of being able to run Mac OSX on a PC. It amuses me to think that if it really took off Mr Jobs would be selling even more copies of Mac OSX than he could have sold Macs in Japan had the ...

PC Emulation under OS 9.x

I found a site just now that provides a PC Emulator for 35 dollars (plus tax) that allows you to run Windows 95/98 under OS 9.x Its quite neat, 30 day demo can be downloaded after registering a name and email for the demo serial here: http://www.lismoresystems.com/ They are working on a version that...

You would need a PC with a Network card, preferrably running Win dows XP to make life simpler. Set up the internet connection on the PC and then setup Home Networking. The PC will act as the gateway to the internet and ratehr neatly will act as a DHCP server for anything connected to it. Do this, ma...

Was this after installing the bsd sub system? I didnt bother initially as I wasnt going to do development on the emulator. In my case, the applet ran and I could see some tabs, then it said certain files were missing from the bsd distribution, and quit with the error shown.

Unless the CD is formatted using a file system that Mac OSX understands it will refuse to read the CD. This may be the underlying problem behind all the non-bootable Cd images some people have had. When the installer finished up and restarted, this stopped pear pc.

Before run on the Peeler prog, I simply removed the iso image from the box, so it was set to Auto and there was only the hard disk file it could boot off.
