Okay, so I bought a PowerMac G4 MDD, which AGP video card should I get?
(For Mac OS 9, not Mac OS X like what you get on google search)

Re: no matter how much ram: not enough virtual memory
Part of the issue is that OS 9 uses VM and so it can run with less physical memory. SheepShaver, as pointed out, doesn't handle the PMMU, and so can't page out memory -- so no VM. However, considering you've likely got gigs of RAM available on your host, you can just toss 128MB at SheepShaver and e...

Re: Basilisk II Android port - progress thread
Perhaps Qemu's TCG? SheepShaver uses Qemu's old jit. But I have absolutely no idea how they converted from the old one to the new one. http://www.slideshare.net/RampantJeff/qemu-binary-translation Best, Cat_7 The latest WinUAE uses Qemu for a PowerPC accelerator... That would probably be the best w...

Machine-specific install disks usually don't work well with emulators, find a retail install disk somewhere. (Can't link here)

Edit resource forks on Mac OS X
In Mac OS X, you can access the resource fork as a file by giving a program (such as a hex editor) this kind of path: /path/to/file/..namedfork/rsrc And the program will see the resource fork. If there is no resource fork, the program will see the "file" as empty. I'll post a C struct you ...

Re: Gripe about sheepshaver...!!!!!!
Yeah, sheepshaver is a total mess... I think it pretty much requires a rewrite. It works, however! But when you try to change stuff, it's just too ugly.

-M mac99 option works correctly on qemu commit b981289c493c7ddabc1cdf7de99daa24642c7739 However, a later commit broke that again (NO symbol appears) Also, if you try to install 10.4 on a g3beige machine with a G4 processor, the installer will just hang on a spinning beachball. Yeah, autohell just is very confusing, and it checks stuff that should be outdated 10 years ago!

Re: can't mount HFS volumes in Mavericks using Fuse HFS
I looked into the extra folders in /Volumes/ and it's due to a race condition in OSXFUSE that evidently existed as far back as MacFUSE 2.0. The OSXFUSE developer says it won't be fixed in 2.x, and is already fixed in the code that will eventually become 3.0, whenever that may eventually appear. So ...

You can change the resolution in SheepShaver emulated machine after ctrl-return, or you have to restart Sheep Shaver? Native full screen _might_ be possible.

Thanks for that! This is a bit annoying though, you have to open Disk Utility and press Eject on the disk image before you can do anything with the disk image. Whoops, didn't get a notification about this reply. Could you be more specific on the problem you're seeing? What steps do you follow that ...

I emailed zydeco, the original FuseHFS developer, and he was supportive of me publishing a new version, so here we go: https://thejoelpatrol.github.io/fusehfs/ Version 0.1.4b is up there, ready for testing. I'd appreciate some feedback on things working as expected or any problems you encounter, wi...

Yeah, because redirecting commands to the host is much easier than trying to emulate a graphics card and figuring out how to accelerate it.

Hmm... Does the game interact with the graphics card through the OpenGL extension or to hardware directly? If it's through the OpenGL extension that might make things easier.
