You may want to check if you're running the smp with kvm.

Someone told me smp with kvm is broken somewhere after kernel 3.x.x

I'll be getting a QuickSilver, with Dual 7455's, so I'll be wanting to fix that too.

I think Qemu is hesitant to use Rom's due to copyright issues, but then I've been wrong before. It sure would be nice to have a 68k emulator that could run the Mac OS in Qemu, tho an issue maybe that it runs too fast. HAXM sounds interesting, I have a KVM.kext that creates /dev/kvm on the macOS, but it never really got passed the proof of concept stage, and all that can be done is to boot a linux kernel in qemu with it.
