Control panel is hidden
I do not know OSX, but in both OS8.5 and 8.6 the control panel you are looking for, is "hidden" in the Apple Extras folder. The sound-output must be set to "built in". When you are lucky, it will work than.:-) (As for me it doesn't, cause I'm using Linux and a GF8100 chipset) I d...

To whom it may concern
Hello, I just wanted to report, that SheepShaver 2.6 is in operation with Suse linux 11 on my AthlonX2-64 host system. I had to install Basilisk II first, to get SheepShaver working. Probably some needful routines are not included in the SheepShaver install package. As I already pointed out, I found...

Perfectly right
I' absolutely unsure if that may even be called a "bug".
Sorry about that.
In real world macs, one would hardly find a machine booting 6.08 and 8.01.
About that copying issue: You can mount OS8 images with MiniVMac.

New desktop file
Hi, I am experiencing the same behaviour when mounting MiniVMac boot disks in Basilisk-OS8. Apparently a new desktop file is created by OS8, beeing incompatible with MiniVMac. Still I am able to mount that disk image in MiniVMac, copy my files to another disk, format the corrupted one and copy files...

Emulator benchmarks?
Hello folks, I was just wondering wether anyone was interested in benchmarks done with Mac emulators. As an example I did one with Speedometer4, having been quite common in the days of 68k Macs. If someone wants the program (freeware), please let me know and I'll send it as an email attachment. Repo...

No machine to run it
Thanks for the messages, I still have the disks and an old PPC 7100/80. "ShanghaiII Dragons Eye" is supposed to be included in the system6 hell, so you might give it a try. What is missing, is a machine to run the game with all features. MiniVMac does the job in monochrome with sound. Basi...

No problem with WinXP
Hi, as far as I know, MiniVMacII 3.10 is runnig pretty good with System 6.08. My host system is WinXP-pro SP2. Still MiniVMacII 3.10 isn't already completed, so you wont be able to run the install routine of 6.08. The workaround is: Run MiniVMac (128k ROM) and create a fresh system folder for a MacI...

SheepShaver and SUSE Linux?
Hello SheepSaver experts, I heard, that SS is much faster with a unix host system thanwith 32bit-windows. I am using SUSE Linux 11.0 and WinXP via grub (grand unified boot loader) on my Athlon64 X2, so I can switch between the OS's easily. Could someone tell me, what collection of files I should use...

MinVMac Sound-Control freezes
Hello Mac experts, I want to run an old game "ShanghaiII Dragons Eye" on the MiniVMacII emulator. MacII was the last machine to run the game properly in colour and with sound. Unfortunately the MiniVMacII version 3.10 freezes when I try to set the sound volume. The problem is the same with...

Hello,
I'm afraid SYSTEM5 was never really in operation.
For a nice collection you might look here:

Shanghai_II game again
Hello Shanghai fans, All my (problematic) programs are running so far, including ShanghaiII, with SheepShaver. I "downgraded" to SheepShaver2.3, OS7.6 and a 4MB "oldworld" macrom. My host system is WinXP. The emulation is quite fast and stable. You may know that the four original...

Hello SheepShaver community, 1.)did anyone already manage to get sound output from SheepShaver? I my case I'm only seeing a flashing menue bar in the monitor and sound control panel. (Please see my "photoshop crashes" post for my system's configuration). 2.)is it possible to dedicate real ...

PPC7100 and iMac just the same
Hi Amiganaut, I am experiencing the same problem with my PPC601 and PPC750 machines. CopyRom creates a 4MB file, that SheepShaver will not accept for booting. As far as Ican judge it, the ROM file must begin like this viewed in a text editor such as kate (Linux) : <CHRP-BOOT> <COMPATIBLE> iMac,1 Pow...

Photoshop crashes
Hello SheepShaver enthusiasts, I came across this wonderful site just recently. I am still using an old PPC7100 and an iMac bondi-blue. For the predictable case that systems will fail, I would be happy to move all my files to SS. I set up an emulator with the recent files cat7 posted. My host system...
