Oh, your'e welcome.
I'm afraid I don't know that game, and I am no addict of online games.
Thank you anyway.

Success with Apple CD audio!
Hello, I observed that AppleCD audio is working perfectly with my XP32 systems. I tried it with Miles Davis "Tempus Fugit" original CD, no toasted copy. It works with service pack 2 and 3 pATA, sATA and USB DVD drives Basilisk OS8 SheepShaver OS7.6, 8.6 and 9.0 NewWorld and OldWord ROM Unf...

File menu
Hi Nathan, luckily, you will not need any extra software for img files. I am assuming we are talking about MiniVmac: Just select it from the "Open disk image" in the File menue. I don't think it is a matter of the OS as MiniVmac does the job. At least this is true for all versions I tried....

"Unreadable" Mac disks, anyone?
It occurred to me that some guys are still owning old Mac disks, unreadable by modern computer systems. As I do not like to discard devices still beeing operationable, I am keeping plenty of old stuff, e.g. Apple floppy disk drive, Syquest 44MB cartridge drives, Imation 120MB disk drive, 3,5" m...

800k
Hello degan24, OK, I see your point. Things will become a little tricky with only one 800k drive, but not impossible. Apple released OS 6.08 for free a long time ago and I am sure there were 800k disk images available those days. Can you find someone at your location with an old Mac who would diskco...

Superdrive
Hi, as far as I can recall the SE30 already came with the so called Superdrive floppy drive. So you should be able to boot from a high density disk with e.g. Mac OS 6.08. You should then be able to format your SCSI harddisk if it is accepted by the Mac OS. gryphel is quite right, without correct dev...

Return of the BONG
Hello,
do you know what happened to the Mac startup sound?
MiniVMac does play it, as far as I know, some early versions of BasiliskII did it too.
The recent versions of BII and SS do not play a startup sound.
Why?
It would be pretty cool to have the "bong" back, wouldn't it?
Yours

Anyone on Linux?
Hello, I am looking for a Linux distro that will allow me to run BII and SS in fullscreen mode. Opensuse_11.0 works with both, but not fullscreen. My EEEBUNTU_3.0 life volume runs BII in fullscreen and window mode, but it doesn't work with SS at all, displays an error message like this instead: &quo...

Linux
Thanks a lot for your kind advice! As you may know, I'm on my beloved OpenSuse mostly, (Linux 2.6.25.5-1.1-default x86_64) but there seems to be a problem with the X-Window system or the graphics drivers, preventing the "full screen" mode to work. Maybe I should check for another Linux dis...

"odd" Monitors?
Hello, I am wondering wether anybody has managed to run BII or SS in "full screen" mode with "odd" monitors such as common wide-screen displays. As for me, I did not. Neither with 1366x768, 1680x1050 nor Intel or nvidia graphics chip. Anything I am getting are some queer lines or...

Hoping not to be too boring... Both versions are OK. But: As far as I can tell, 7.6 ist the fastest and most stabile OS for SS. You will need the 4MB ROM of course. Best wishes! Edit: I did a few tests with a low end system and Norton Disk Info 5.0. Test system: N270 netbook and a 1GB hardfile for M...

Good work!
Hi Michael, nice to read your profund review! I did not care much about that issue, because I used MacOS 7.6 as a workaround, like others. Still it is a great help to have everything working with 9.04. My configuration is: Linux 2.6.25.5-1.1-default x86_64, SheepShaver from Cat7 22.03.2010. I did no...

Many thanks to both of you!
It seems to be a bit tricky but not impossible.
Wether the whole buisiness is worth the effort with little RAM - I don't know.
I'll check Other World Computing's XPostFacto 4 site, I did not know that one.
Bye!

ATA
Hi Mike, thanks for your answer! I see your point that there is no support from formac. On the other hand, there was no need for a driver with OS8 and 9, as the device was handled by Apple's SCSI Manager. Anyway I could not make my OSX installer accept anything other than my old 4.3 GB Mac HD. Do yo...

Macintosh File System
Hello, I do not know your game, but I found that some old games would only work with MFS disks, or to be correct, MFS disk images. The Mac OS needed is OS4 or lower. If that should be true in your case you might try the following: -Create two suitable new volumes -Boot MiniVmac with Mac OS4 and form...

OSX and non-Apple harddisks?
Hello everybody, as I already told, I am owner of an iMac bondi blue, that I bought in late 98. Those iMac's have an (undocumented) PCI slot, hosting a formac SCSI "pro Raid" card, in my case. I did not pay much attention to OSX since than, bacause I am missing all that useful programs run...

HFS works (more or less)
Hi, I am not sure if you are planning to access a real HFS Volume or are we talking about a hardfile? it seems, that recent Linux releases can read HFS and HFS+ physical volumes and at least write HFS. "Apple System Software Recovery 3"
Hi,
if you are searching torrents or perhaps mediafire you might download the "Apple System Software Recovery 3"
This one will decompress into a nice US OS9 universal installation disk.
Best wishes!

Hi, some time ago I tried to mount SCSI devices with BII. It is possible to do this with the old Basilisk94 version for Windows, including a "SCSI" pane. I managed to mount a SCSI harddisk and an MO. Those devices are "seen" on the bus by eg. SCSIProbe 3.5 from within BII, so I a...
