Startup.wav is low-pitched when using a different sound
So I've been playing around with the latest SheepShaver build after getting it to work. I've been experimenting with using different startup sounds from different Macs. So for a 7.5.3 emulation, I decided to use the Power Mac 9500 sound for startup.wav, but when I started up the emulation, the sound was much lower-pitched than what I had actually used. Am I doing something wrong, and what do I do to fix it?

What do you mean? Is the sound different when the .wav file is started directly on the host or when used as "startup.wav" file in the same folder as SheepShaver in order to play at SheepShaver startup?

I meant the startup.wav in the main SheepShaver directory.

What he asked was: does the sound sound differently when you play it manually vs when you run SheepShaver.

It sounds normal when I play it manually, but when I use it in SheepShaver, that's when it gets all low-pitched.

Weird. On my Mac the sound plays exactly the same in both cases.
Are you running SheepShaver in Windows?

Well, then do others using a startup.wav with SheepShaver in Windows have the same experience?

Not that I know of. So far, I've really been the only one to experience this.

Somehow the audio is going through a different pipeline for you. Do you have any audio filters installed? Using a custom sound card? Routing application audio through a different system than system alerts? anything else about your hardware or software config that might be affecting this?

I meant for other users who use SheepShaver on Windows and use a startup.wav file to respond.Ronald P. Regensburg wrote: ↑Tue May 11, 2021 7:15 am Well, then do others using a startup.wav with SheepShaver in Windows have the same experience?

Ok then. We can just wait and see if anyone else with the same issue responds.Ronald P. Is there a Windows version by any chance? I only see Mac and Linux versions.

Huh? Did you check the SheepShaver and Basilisk for Windows fora?
