SCSI to USB questions

Post by jsmoove »

Hi there, first post here.
I'm using: http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/macos9win.html

I'm wondering if it is possible to connect an old device via SCSI to USB and have it recognized within the emulator on a modern windows computer.
(lenovo x320)

More specifically, im wanting to run old film recorder hardware, the Lasergraphics film recorder.
Which I do not own at the moment.

I have the Macrascol program which sends info to the film recorder successfully working in the emulator:

Would sheepshaver be able to recognize a SCSI connection through a SCSI to USB cable?
Impossible?

Would love to know.

Hi,

Sorry, no. SheepShaver does not have access to USB devices on the host.
Only Qemu has some possibilities to access host USB devices, but the rate of success is very low.

Ah, I figured as much!
I think I will go the parallel port option then on windows, since most film recorders come with both parallel + scsi.
Thanks for the response.
