How Long Should I Wait?

Post by SikSavant »

I seem to consistently reach this point when installing OSX 10.3. The CMD window reports:

[CPU/CPU] execution started at 05601028

but nothing ever seems to happen past this point. How long should I wait before presuming the thing has hung? Shouldn't I get other messages, or at least see the "chasing arrows" in the apple boot screen?

Well...I answered my own question, it would appear. Apparently, my OSX iso wasn't as good as it appeared. Good enough to get the install screen, but not good enough to do anything. When I made a new iso with Alcohol 120%, the install started almost immediately. So....it appears some of the methods described to make a good bootable image are not so good...

Hope this helps somebody!
