Interview with the PearPC developers

Post by Le petit prince »

The German Mac online news service macnews.de has conducted an interview with the developers of PearPC. Both are German IT students. Some quotes:

How fast is PearPC actually? Will the application ever reach something like "realtime" [execution]?

"It depends on how fast newest PCs will be. We hope to reach a speed of 1:10. So if you eventually are able to buy a PC with 10 times the clock speed of a G3, you will have a real-time G3."

[...]

Did Apple contact you? Do you expect that to happen?

"So far not, but somehow we don't expect that, either. It is highly unlikely at such an early state [of development]."

[...]

Did you expect such a feedback?

"No. We had expected some feedback, but not in that dimension. We are overwhelmed."

The entire interview can be found at http://www.macnews.de/index.php?_mcnpage=52752 (German only).
