can't boot

Post by zolaxion »

Hi, i have spent time looking at the posts in this forum, but i still can't boot from my CD.

I am using the configppc.exe which creates the config files automatically and i have convert the image from Mac osx 10.3 CD into .ISO by using NERO (save tracks) also using the PantherImage.img provide from this forum for 10.3. However, i still can't boot.

I have 8 partition available, but none of them can boot. it lists 3 "cdrom0" and 4 "disk0".

Any one has ideo how to solve it?

Here is the config file codes

#PearPC configuration file

#Screen Resolution ID
#Current = 800*600*15
ppc_start_resolution=4

#Redraw Interval in ms (1-999)
redraw_interval_msec=200

#Boot Mode : auto, select or force
#(force is not implemented in Config GUI yet)
prom_bootmethod="auto"

#Boot Method : "-v" = verbose
#"-s" = single-user mode (usefull to format Mac OS X drive from Darwin)
prom_env_machargs="-v"

#This is needed if you want to boot Mac OS X
prom_driver_graphic="video.x"

#CPU config : defaults to 0x00088302
#cpu_pvr = 0x00088302

#Memory Size (default 128 MiB, must be >= 64 MiB)
memory_size=0x8000000

#IO Devices

#Master Device
pci_ide0_master_installed=1
pci_ide0_master_image="C:\pearpc-0.1-win32-jitc\PantherImage.img"
pci_ide0_master_type="hd"

#Slave Device
pci_ide0_slave_installed=1
pci_ide0_slave_image="C:\pearpc-0.1-win32-jitc\1.iso"
pci_ide0_slave_type="cdrom"

#Network (unavailable on Windows)

Comment out the network lines
#Network (unavailable on Windows)
pci_3c90x_installed=0
pci_3c90x_mac="de:ad:ca:fe:12:34"

should be
#Network (unavailable on Windows)
#pci_3c90x_installed=0
#pci_3c90x_mac="de:ad:ca:fe:12:34"

Also remake your ISO's I've seen a lot of people having problems with the 10.3 cds and not as many problems with the 10.2 cd's..... just a thought....

Try using Alcohol 120%. I made my images that way and the work just fine. make sure you have your hd image set as your master and your 10.3 cd 1 as your slave.

You also need to make sure you have "" around your integers
ex) pci_ide0_master_installed= "1"

I didn't put " around my integers and mine works fine.
