Is there any way I can make it not do the networking part at the end of the Panther bootup? it takes a long time and its a waste!

I believe that is something your probably going to want to look around the net more than look here. I might be wrong however I am just happy to have OSX on my Win machine. :-D others may be able to help you with that though. I think that is a process that the macs go through in which they boast their plug and play compatablity with OSX over OS9 and such. Just MHO
