installing: infinite time???
hi guys!
well.
i'm trying to install pearpc.
i tried with my p3/700, but i read some posts about this slow process. i read about a duron/700 installing in 35 hours...
looked around me.
the fastest machine in this room is a 1.4Centrino with 512M ram, so i installed all the stuff there. i used PearPeeler to config and run it.
well: now it's just 57 (!) hours it's "installing" or so. the CPU usage is always at 100%.
should i still wait???

> Yeah I have a 2.6 Celeron, 1 GB of RAM....took 5 hours
i don't understand.
a celeron 2.6 is somehow similar to a centrino 1.4, isn't it? sure more similar than a P3/700 or a duron/700, i think.
well, my centrino (512M of ram) is now running for 70 hours (almost 3 full days).
i've eaten 12 pizzas till now...
ok for the good lunch, but...

yes, i moved the mouse.
the computer is alive.
i keep monitoring cpu usage and it is always at 100%, so it is doing something, but what?
maybe i'm wrong in doing something?
that's what i did:
- expanded the 3gb disk image
- put the macOs iso on my hd
- launched pearpc (see attach "ppc_1.gif")
- choose 1 at the prompt
- attach "ppc_2.gif": what i can see on my monitor since 72 hours...
?

i took one of this compressed files; i expanded it and obtained a file called "PantherImage.img" of 3.145.464 bytes.
one thing i must say, if i run ppc.exe it says:
"[IO/IDE] <Error> invalid format (filesize isn't a multiple of 516096)"
but PearPeeler says nothing.
i've tried another 3gb image too (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/pear ... ib.img.bz2 from http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/downloads.html page) but ppc.exe always says there's a size mismatch.
the iso file has been obtained with nero from a working cd-rom my friend has used to install panther on his iBook.
