Tap-Win32 Adapter doesn't show

Post by redokem »

I've installed OpenVPN 2.0 beta 2 as instructed but no matter how many times I uninstall/reinstall it I can't get the Tap-Win32 Adapter to show up in my network connections. It shows in device manager but for some unknown reason there's no connection for it in Network Connections. (I'm running Windows XP Pro (I've tryed it with both SP2 and SP1 in hopes that rolling back to SP1 would fix my problems)). Has anyone else had this problem or know of a solution?

For me it was initially called "Local Area Connection 2". Do you notice any new network connections after installing OpenVPN?

Nope, sadly there's no new connections at all.

maybe the tap32 is a 16bit device???

I know of friends that cannot run some programs after they installed a clean xp pro, but it worked at first when it was an upgrade on win 98SE.

I wonder if this falls into that group of programs. (vpn that is)
