Networking On OS X 10.2 Jaguar

Post by Mac Emu »

I haven't been keeping up with PearPC since it first hit the scene. I managed to setup PearPC on Windows and install OS X 10.2 on the hdf yesterday.

I remember finally having sucess getting networking setup using the 3COM driver after many days or weeks of frustration nearly a year ago, but have forgotten what I did.

The only page I can find about PearPC networking using the 3COM driver (for OS 10.2) is here, but I have a problem copying the kext file into the /System/Library/Extensions directory (no permission). Do I need to move the kext using a terminal?

Is there a networking tutorial for PearPC for owners of Jaguar? Thanks.

Thanks.

I get to "step 5", but do not get a port detected.

Networking 10.2 is different then 10.3. The method I used that worked involved using the kext file located inside Apple3Com3C90x-7-sw.tgz.
