Need help with setting up!
I don't even know how to set ppc up. I'm having trouble with booting from my mac OS 10.4 DVD. I need to know how to set it up. I don't think I'm doing it right. Can someone please post a better example. Thank you.
Hi,
Can you explain a bit about your setup? What version of pearpc do you use?
Do you have a configuration utility? Are you using an iso image for mac osx 4 cd? Can you post your config file here? Where did you get your empty hard disk image.....
Many questions, I know, but please try to give us a good base to start from to get you going.
Best,

Sorry.
The main thing I really want to know is how to boot from the cd. I'm using a 6 gig hard disk image. I don't know what to do with the cd .iso. I'm using the latest pearpc from the pearpc website. And I want to know if there is a way I can create a disk image bigger than 6 GB.
Hi,
You need to enter the path to the .iso filename in the config file and set the slave ide channel as active.
This should be somewhere in your config file:
pci_ide0_master_installed = 1
pci_ide0_master_image = "C:\PearPC\pearpc-6gib.img"
pci_ide0_master_type = "hd"
pci_ide0_slave_installed = 1
pci_ide0_slave_image = "C\PearcPC\osx.iso"
pci_ide0_slave_type = "cdrom"
You must change the lines relate to the names of your hard disk image and osx .iso file.
You should also change the line for prom_bootmethod to:
prom_bootmethod = "select"
That will show you a boot menu, so you can see whether pearpc recognizes the partition on the dvd image it can boot from.
You can create larger hard disk images. Examples of how to do that are on the pearpc site. (And also on this site, I believe. Just use search)
Good luck,

I have to make iso?
I have to make an iso file of the install disk! Is there a way I can just let PearPC read from my physical drive?
Oh?
I understood from your remark about not knowing what to do with the .iso image you had a dvd image?
I assume you are running windows? If so, you need to enter this:
pci_ide0_slave_installed = 1
pci_ide0_slave_image = "DriveLetter:\"
pci_ide0_slave_type = "nativecdrom"
Take care to enter the correct drive letter with the : and \
Pearpc should then boot from dvd.
