I receive this error as soon as I start my config file.:

my config file is as follows:

#Mac Os

pci_ide0_slave_type = "cdrom"
pci_usb_installed = 1
nvram_file = "nvram"

==============

I have tried an alternate config file with this instead:

pci_ide0_slave_image = "I:\"
pci_ide0_slave_type = "nativecdrom"

I used this when I mount the iso file ahead of time with DAEMON Managerv3.33

I'm just not shure what to do next. Any advice would be appreciated.

Okay...new information. I believe my empty disc file was the incorrect size.

The file created by PearPC Control Panel created:
"6GB Hard Drive 6.193.152kb.img"
(6,193,152 divided by 1024 = 6048)

The file I downloaded is:
"6GB Hard Drive 6.291.432kb.img"
(6,291,432 divided by 1024 = 6143.976...)

When I use the larger "6GB Hard Drive 6.291.432kb.img" img file I can make it all the way to the Prom boot loader screen where it askes if I want to boot to "partition 1 of 'cdrom' (unknown/Apple_HFS)

When I choose it I get this error:

AuthenticAMD
CMOV MMX 3DNOW 3DNOW+ SSE SSE2 SSE3

[CPU/MMU] new pagetable: sdr1 accepted

start: 0
[CPU/CPU] execution started at 06601c28
[IO/PROM] <Warning> 05800000 in use!
[IO/PROM] <Error> memory->claim failed!

==========

I seem to have a memory usage problem. Any ideas?

I switched to nativecdrom and mounted the Mac OS ISO. I can't read the mounted drive. My version of the OS is "Apple Mac OSX Tiger 10.4.10 for Mac Intel (1 dvd)." Of course I don't have an Intel machine. Mine is an AMD machine.

Here's the error message from ppc

AuthenticAMD
CMOV MMX 3DNOW 3DNOW+ SSE SSE2 SSE3
[CPU/MMU] new pagetable: sdr1 = 0x00300003
[CPU/MMU] new pagetable: sdr1 accepted

start: 32768
getStartBlock: 0 Apple_HFS
getStartBlock: 1 Apple_HFS
start: 0
getStartBlock: 0 Apple_HFS
getStartBlock: 1 Apple_HFS
[IO/PROM] <Error> can't open boot file

Any ideas of what to do?

Hum, are you trying to install Mac OS X for Intel using PearPC on Windows or Linux?

Hi,

The aim of PearPC was to implement an PowerPC emulator, that happened to enable us to install Mac OS X, but only the PowerPC versions, so your install can't succeed.

Best look for a suited dvd or cd version.

Good luck,

I did sort of conclude this afternoon that maybe OS X 10.x wouldn't work. I was starting to pick up on it from all the other posts. I'm using Win XP Pro.

I'll find the Power PC disk somewhere. Are they still available?

Thanks

Is this the version I should be using:

Mac OS X Install DVD v. 10.4.6 for PowerPC systems

Yes,

Any PowerPC DVD between versions 10.2 and 10.4.10 should work, as long as it's an universal installer, and not a restore disk for a specific mac model.
