In need of some help..

Post by dj281 »

I've followed instructions to the detail but when I try to run my config in the control panel, I just get the blank screen with "You can see the output of the PearPC program below.." message at the top.
Any help or do you need the config file first?

Start by posting the contents of your config file. We can go from there.

Hi,
It seems the required file video.x is not in your folder.

Please download the original pearpc release from http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/pear ... 2-jitc.zip
The file will be in the download. Place it in your pearpc folder.

And try again.

Might I suggest just starting over?

Delete everything. Particularly your config file.

Get the .0.4.0 release:

http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/downloads.html

And make a config file using this:

http://guillaumejamet.eu/index.php?rub= ... pc_cfg.php

And start PearPC from a command prompt (NOT the control panel).

Does the same thing happen?

Have you installed OS X onto that 6 gb image? If not, you are missing a reference to your install CD.

In that website based config file generator, look at the "disks" section.

In "master" select ISO if you have an ISO of OS X and the browse to the file.

You can also use "cd rom direct access" if you have an actual CD (not a DVD... that will NOT work).

Then in "slave" select "hd" and browse to your blank 6 gb disk image.

I think you had this set up properly in the original config file you posted, but NOT in the second config file you posted.

Fix this and post back with your results.

(PS: I will be away all weekend, so I might not be able to reply right away)

check this out:

http://pearpc.sourceforge.net/getstart.html#starting

You have to type the name of your config file as a parameter at the command line.

Double check the name of the config file. Make sure that you are typing it properly. And double check that the config file is in the same directory as the ppc.exe file.

Also, change:

pci_ide0_master_type = "hd"

to:

pci_ide0_master_type = "cdrom"
