Disk Burning app on Mojave?
I am quite new to Mac and a long time Win 7 user. What is the best disk burning app on Mojave? I need to create a couple of Windows installation disks.

Re: Disk Burning app on Mojave?
On macOS, the first place to turn is Disk Utility. However, Apple moved the functionality to burn disks from Disk Utility to the Finder with OS X 10.11, so here's the new method:

If you don't want to go that route, you can use http://discoapp.com/ which is now free.

1. Disco is not optimized for you mac
2. can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer

Re: Disk Burning app on Mojave?
You can ignore that message. It only means that the app is 32-bit. The message will be shown for each 23-bit app you try for the first time.anmocha wrote: 1. Disco is not optimized for you mac
The application is not code-signed. If you trust the app, you can open it by right-clicking (or control-clicking) its icon and choosing "Open" from the contextual menu that will appear. Also that message will be shown only when starting the app for the first time.2. can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer

Re: Disk Burning app on Mojave?
It's a good reminder though: thinking ahead to 10.15, does anyone know of an easy and reliable way to burn CDs and DVDs using a 64-bit app? Not an issue for me as none of my Mojave-capable Macs have an optical drive anyway, but I'd presume there would be some overlap between 10.15 capable Macs and ones with either an internal or external optical drive. And the Finder isn't going to handle bin/cue or other non-iso-9660 image formats all that well.
Re: Disk Burning app on Mojave?
There is Burn which claims to have a 64-bit version: http://burn-osx.sourceforge.net/Pages/English/home.html
According to its FAQ it’s using Apples DiscBurning.framework, which doesn’t make it improve on “bin/cue or other non-iso-9660 image formats”. But I’ve used in in the past for burning of loose files and images and found it easy to use and doing the job.

Re: Disk Burning app on Mojave?
Yeah; I skipped mentioning Burn specifically because it's just a wrapper around the existing API.
I guess using ImgBurn inside a VM is a possibility; maybe even inside WINE?

Re: Disk Burning app on Mojave?
To be on the safe side, I would second using IMGBurn in a Windows VM on a Mojave host.
If you want the ad free version of IMGBurn, a copy is here:
http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/imgburn-250
Just don´t upgrade.
Mike Tom Tom at Macintoshgarden uploaded this some time ago.
http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/liquidcd
I´ll have a look whether the app is still usable with Mojave.
