Updating Tiger in QEMU

Post by isanyonethere10 »

I recently started running Tiger in QEMU on a 6GB virtual disk. However, when I tried installing the 10.4.11 update (which I downloaded directly from Apple and burned to an ISO) it froze on first reboot on the Apple logo and future reboots take at least 10 minutes to finish (It has 768MB RAM allotted). I restored a backup I made of the disk at first boot. Should I install all the updates to 10.4.11 individually and see if that fixes it?

If I remember correctly, it takes 2 reboots to get through that update process. Qemu doesn't reboot nicely when the update asks for that.
After that, 10.4.11 should boot with the normal speed.

This has been my experience too on QEMU. Same experience but without the hangs on real hardware.
