Unix Root folder disappeared suddenly

Post by DominikHoffmann »

In BasiliskIIGui I have my Unix Root set to “/Users/dominik/Desktop/Basilisk/Shared/”. While I can boot into my 68K Mac just fine and the two disk images selected in the Volumes pane are mounted, the folder “Shared” is completely absent. This has been the case, ever since I created a new disk image and initialized it in the 68K Mac Finder.

I should explain that I am running the Basilisk II 1.0, SDL2 port on macOS Mojave.

Is there a Preferences file somewhere that I can delete, in order to start from scratch? What else can I do to troubleshoot this?

I was able to fix it myself.

The OS on my boot volume was not System 8, but a version of System 7.

If you want shared folders to work on System 7, install "File System Manager" extension.

Thanks for the explanation!

At this point I am happy that I was able to open an old Wingz spreadsheet from 1992 I still have on my 2017 MacBook Pro in the Wingz application, was able to export it to SYLK format and import it in the latest version of Excel.
