New Install on OS 10.13.6 "Basilisk II error:"

Running a Mac Mini (Mid 2011) - OS X 10.13.6

Everything went as instructed...
Pressed the Start button and returned with an error:

Basilisk II error:
Could not start Basilisk II (No such file or directory)

Tried to start the app manually (Not the GUI one) and quickly tries and quits.
Any hints from here?

Thanks,
Ben

The Start button often does not work on more recent OSX/macOS hosts, even when BasiliskII application and GUI application are in the same folder. Maybe that instruction should be removed from the manual.

But directly launching BasiliskII also does not work in your setup.

- Which rom file do you use?
- Which boot image do you use?
- Which settings did you choose for 'Mac Model ID' and 'CPU Type'?

Also, if you run the BII.app from Terminal, does it throw any errors when it quits? You may also find logged errors in Console.app from previous sessions.

You downloaded the wrong rom file from the redundant robot site. Try the Performa rom file.

Amazing! This worked perfectly.

Strangely...I am asked to reinitialize the hard drive partition(s) every time I start it up.
If I do it, it says: Disk initialization failed because the disk is locked. Is this normal?

Anyway, thank you SO much for the help. You're awesome!

Ben

Sounds like you've got a locked file that's not formatted in your disk images list.

Could it be the "DiskTools_MacOS8" file? It's locked.

No.

If you followed the setup guide so far, proceed from "Inside Mac OS":
The system will now find the hard disks we created earlier (saying this is not a mac disk) and will offer to initialize them.

-Give the first disk an appropriate name (for instance MacOS753) and choose Mac OS Standard as format.
