Unix drive (File Sharing) on Japanese System 7 (J-7.1)

Post by gingerbeardman »

I use Japanese System 7.1 (about shows J-7.1) for a lot of stuff: software, HyperCard stacks, etc.

One thing that has bugged me for a while, but only now got to tipping point, is that Unix folder does not mount in J-7.1

I am using the File System Manager Extension as directed, and that works in UK version of 7.1, but not Japanese J-7.1 though I have no idea why.

Do I need a Japanese version of File System Manager Extension? Something else? Will it ever or never work?

Any thoughts or assistance appreciated.

Meanwhile I will look into going higher than J-7.1 but when I last looked that was the most recommended/highest Japanese system I could find.

I have no idea why I stopped at J-7.1

I'll try installing higher tonight. Thanks!
