Executor on OSX/PowerPC Linux...possible?

Post by Vanfanel »

Hello there!

This is my first post on this forum, I've been watching it from the shadows for years. So hello all! :D

Well, I am now on a Mac Mini G4 computer, running both OSX 10.4 and an optimized build of Gentoo Linux, and I miss some 68k mac apps/games from the old days...Classic is not an option: it sucks even for playing Lemmings! :D

So I read Executor sourcecode has been released, and I've been thinking:
1) Has anyone tried to compile the source in Linux/OSX??
2)I KNOW there's a POWERPC Linux version of Executor. After searching FOR HOURS, I couln't find a binary for PowerPC Linux... Has anyone got it?

I've also tried BasiliskII, but I find it's screen refresh full of tearing, etc... so I think Executor, being SO LIGHT is a GREAT option to run onld Mac games/apps in a Mac Mini G4!
I hope you guys can lend me a hand here with executor on this mac..
Thanks!!

The Executor project is dead, though the source code is available. To my knowledge Executor in Linux on PPC could only run (some) PPC Mac applications, no 68k applications:

If you are interested in running a virtual PPC Mac in Linux on PPC, you may want to have a look at MOL (Mac-on-Linux):
http://mac-on-linux.sourceforge.net/

For emulation of a 68k Mac on a PPC machine in MacOSX or Linux, I only know BasiliskII and Mini vMac.
