I've successfully run Minix in Mini vMac! For those who don't know what Minix is, it's a UNIX clone that was used for teaching purposes back in the 80s and 90s that was ported to many systems, including (apparently) the 68k Mac. I had to find some documentation online to figure out what the root login was, since I'd never used it before. Since this project is freeware (under the BSD license), this may be of great interest to some. And since we can't yet run A/UX, this seems like an alternative if you're looking for pure UNIX! Here's some links:
http://www.minix3.org/previous-versions ... .7.sea.hqx
This would be the actual archive which contains the OS.

This page told me the login names and such.
This is really exciting to me, as we now have (to my knowledge) two OSes that we can use in Mini vMac.
I'll post some pictures later!

re: MacMinix
What I want to know is: Can any Linux/UNIX distro that doesn't have to run on top of Mac OS run on Mini vMac?
I know that ss and b2 dont support booting from any other os, but mini vmac is worth a try.[/i]
