A/UX on MESS?
It's the only real shot we have at emulating it: MESS has evolved a lot over the years. Can it run A/UX yet?
Re: A/UX on MESS?
That would be wonderful! If MESS can emulate the MMU I do hope that it can be adapted into Basilisk II, as well.
Re: A/UX on MESS?
How I wish I had more spare time...
Last time I tried MESS it wasn't able to boot AU/X. Whether that was my fault or MESS I'm not too sure. MESS has at least some MMU support on the 68020, not sure about the other processors. Also there is the beginnings of some PowerMac support there too (people want their Pippin emulation :D).
As a side note, WinUAE now has MMU emulation allowing it to run the Amiga UNIX (see http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=67366). I believe it came from Previous, the NeXT emulation project, which in turn is based on Hatari, the Atari ST/STE/TT/Falcon emulator. So there is some serious work being done in getting more complete 68k emulation out there.
