create and install another hard drive

Post by drjohntas »

Using Chubby Bunny (SheepShaver) emulator. Easy to install the 400mB,800mB, 1200mB blank HDs. all good
However I would like a larger HD to store lots more data etc. (I have been running my business using OS9/Hypercard since 1997)
I have been trying for hours but no luck yet.
Is there a step-by-step guide for this?
So far .. this is what I have tried
I made a large 20 Gig Drive in OSX using App Disk Utility [OS Extended read/write Hard disk] .. gave it a name "Huge 20G Drive" and saved to Shared (OSX) folder ..
Opened Sheepshaver Prefs/Setup Tab ... Clicked Add Button .. Dragged DMG from Shared folder onto resulting pane ..
I get flicked to shared pane and Huge 20G Drive is selected.. click "Open" button .. this results on Huge 20G Drive added to SETUP pane
Nothing resulted.. ie no new folder on OS9

Unlike the regular SheepShaver, COI Chubby Bunny does not allow making prefs/setup changes. As soon as Chubby Bunny is launched, it will overwrite all changes with its default settings. A larger disk image can be used in Chubby Bunny, but the image file must be located in /Users/Shared/ and it must have one of the five names that Chubby Bunny will recognize: 400Meg.dmg, 800Meg.dmg, 1200Meg.dmg, MyOldHD.dmg, or COIHD.dmg.
