I have an old YDL Cd lying around (the only *nix OS for PPC I have) I'd like to try PearPC without downloading a massive Darwin image or a Mandrake Image, and I don't own OSX.

Does YDL work on PearPC.
when trying to boot it I get

[CPU/MMU] new pagetable: sdr1 = 0x00300003
[CPU/MMU] new pagetable: sdr1 accepted
[CPU/MMU] number of pages: 2^15 pagetable_start: 0x00300000 size: 2^18

any ideas?

I get that with phraetron and suse 9.0 plus ppc announces gleefully that it cant find a bootable volume.

I am tempted to bang it over the head with my 4cd fedora but i am resigned to d/l darwin as we speak.

It seems I was mistaken. The impression I got from a cursory reading of the ppc config file was that it supported both regardless of cpu. Of course now I realise my error.
